Thanksgiving and Festival of Lights

Why hello?! Get ready for some blog posts overload (by overload I mean 3 or 4 new posts!). On Nov. 20th our sweet baby hit the 6 month mark (post coming soon over that)! I cannot believe he is half way to his first birthday; time is flying!

Before we left to go back South, we went the annual Festival of Lights parade in Chicago. This is where they have a parade and light the lights and tree on Michigan ave. We had a lot of fun, but jetted out early because it was packed (I felt like every child in Chicago under the age of 5 was there). On the way back Grayson rode in a cab for his first time...he truly is a little city baby or a baby on the go!
He just needs to travel by boat, train and bus and he will officially have ridden on all modes of major transportation... (I think we can make that happen in Chicago).
In the cab

I can't handle his baby Uggs...they look like little mountain man boots! Too cute!

Watching the parade with daddy

We had an awesome view...

For Thanksgiving we headed down to Texas to celebrate Turkey day. Of course our little angel had to fly yet again...he is really logging the airline miles these days;) We flew into Houston and celebrated Thanksgiving there with my family and Matt's family and then headed back to Dallas to see the other side of my family. We have so much to be thankful for this year (well every year), but are so thankful for our healthy and fun baby boy!
Had to do a little more entertaining this go round!

Santa!!! Grayson knows him!!!!

A little "Elf" reference gets everyone in the mood for Christmas! We saw Santa...and Grayson was super happy to see him; Santa on the otherhand couldn't even muster up a smile for the camera. What a grump; jk! But seriously, a little smile would have been nice.

In addition to seeing/meeting Santa we also visited the Lincoln Park Zoo Lights. Matt has been studying like a mad man so it was nice to take a break and go see some lights as a family. I really really want to keep taking advantage of things the city has to offer before we officially move back in June. While I did protest quite a bit about moving here, I must say I am going to miss walking to stores and having so many restaurants and fun things to do a stones throw away.

I hope your holiday season is getting off to a great start!

Halloween and Airplanes

Can you believe it is November??!! Say What?! I seriously cannot believe Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away and Christmas is right around the corner. I love the Holiday season! It is just filled with so much love, memories, fun, parties (HA), and honestly it reminds me just how blessed I am and how truly thankful I am for an awesome Lord and Savior who has blessed me immensely! Seriously, more than words can describe!

Well, in the Slataper (Grayson) world things have been pretty busy! My big guy took his first plane ride to Dallas for SMU's homecoming. We had so much fun visiting friends and family and always love taking our little guy to our alma mater. Maybe one day he will be a mustang too!

Sleeping on the way there - he was SO good!

About to leave Chicago

Daddy feeding before take off so he can sleep!

We're BACK!

We also celebrated Halloween. Although there was no trick or treating or even passing out candy...(they don't trick or treat in our building....LAME!), we still had the best time dressing up Grayson and carving pumpkins. He was a shark for his first Halloween and if I might say the cutest little shark I have even seen!
