Grayson's 1st Haircut

About two weeks ago Grayson got his first haircut, and needless to say he cried pretty much the whole time. I really did not want to get it cut yet, but his baby mullet was getting out of control!!

I took him to Snippets in Lincoln Park and they had all of the fun kid stuff there to make him happy, but it did not seem to work. So....he sat in my lap and the lady cut his hair. On another note, major props to those ladies!! They sing, dance, pretty much whatever they can do to make the kiddos happy! She did a great job and he looks so cute. Maybe now people will stop calling him a girl all the time....!!!!
One of the most pitiful looks I have ever seen. "Mom, please....."

The tears pretty much started as soon as he sat down

Kari's Baby Shower

This past weekend, we went to Dallas for wedding in Austin and to throw one of my best friends a baby shower. She is due with her first baby early June. On a side note, she looks so adorable! She is one of those lucky few that is just belly:) We had the shower at Brook Hollow Country Club on a Sunday afternoon. Since BH was doing most of the work, we only needed to add some floral and decorations. Lauren's sister Kathleen, did the floral and they turned out amazing!!! We added a few personal touches for Kari and Tobin as well. We had such a good time and Kari and Tobin were definitely showered with lots of gifts and love!

Jordan and Matt Shower

A while back my husband and I and two other couples hosted a shower for our friends Jordan and Matt. They are getting married in May in the Hamptons!!! Swanky:) Matt and I have loved getting to know them in Chicago and we are definitely going to miss them when we move...but I am sure we will see them when we make a trip to NYC!

We hosted the shower at our house and everything turned out perfectly! We decided to have the shower a little later and only do drinks and dessert.

They said "sweet dreams" since it was a drinks and dessert shower

Booth Formal

Matt and I attended his Booth Winter Formal a few months ago...AND I am super delayed in posting but I defintely wanted to post about it so it will be fun to look back on one day!

The event was at the Shedd Aquarium so we got a chance to look at the animals before the night got too underway. We had a great time hanging with friends and the committee did a great job!

Easter Sunday

We spent Easter in Chicago this year as a family of three. It was a beautiful day here in Chicago (finally) so we enjoyed every second of it! Since Grayson is still so little we did not do much, other than go to church and brunch. No Easter egg hunts for this kid, but next year I am sure he is going to be thrilled to participate:)

Easter Morning - Loving his basket!

Playing with his new car keys

His new Easter driving loafers
The cookies we made - Grayson actually (well with the help of me, obviously) threw some sprinkles on the cookies

On our way to church

Matt and I decided we would die some eggs and decorate Easter cookies for fun and to have a little bit of Easter tradition. Grayson and Matt both enjoyed their baskets too! Easter was a great time and we have so many things to be thankful for, but most of all that our heavenly father gave his one and only son to us and had him die on the cross so that we could have eternal life. Having a child, it is truly hard for me to comprehend how God did this, I would have been the biggest basket case.... BUT, it put into perspective just how much he loves us and wants all of us to know him so that we can accept him into to our hearts and have eternal life! Happy Easter!

Brunch at RPM Italian - loving his meatballs!
